Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform aerobic biological treatment of waste water more effectively by beforehand subjecting the floating suspended substances in raw water to flocculation and separation in a biologicial treatment tank for waste water.
CONSTITUTION: Raw water 1 is introduced from a raw water tank 2 into a mixing tank 3, and an inorg. flocculant 19 such as, for example, aluminum sulfate, is added thereto and these are mixed. This primary flocculated reaction liquid is introduced into a flocculating tank 4, where an org. high polymer flocculant 20 of, for example, cationic system, is added thereto and these are uniformly mixed to floc the floating suspended substances. Thence, the floc groups are separated in a settling tank 5, and supernatant 24 is sent into a biological treatment 6 tank. A packing 7 such as, for example, active carbon, is packed in the tank 6, and air is fed therein from below through a gas feed pipe 9. The treated water having undergone biological treatment there is introduced into a treated water tank 12. When the loss head of the tank 6 increases, the treated water in the tank 12 is fed to the packing 7 by a pump 14 to backwash the packing. The waste liquid of washing is stored in the tank 16, and is returned into the raw water tank 2.
