Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate a preliminary upsetter working process, reduce the size of equipment and improve production efficiency by subjecting a blank material beforehand to drawing and forming to work it into dissimilar diameter sectional shapes of an identical shape then subjecting the same to upsetter working.
CONSTITUTION: The outside diameter of a round blank material (a) is continuously formed to a circular part A and a flat part B by the passage through caliber rolls 21 of the previous stage, thence, the circular part A is formed by a circular hole 29 and the flat part B is drawn by a circular hole 30, in a pair of caliber rolls 22 of the next stage, whereby these are continuously formed to dissimilar diameter sectional shapes of a large diameter part A' and a small diameter part B' having a similar figure, at predetermined pitch intervals. This round blank material (a) is cut at every pitch unit having the large diameter part A' and the small diameter part B' by a cutting die 32 and a cutter 33. In the process II and the process III, the small diameter part B' is inserted into an upsetting die 34; at the same time, the large diameter part A' is preliminarily upsetter worked by a punch 35. In the process IV, these are upsetter worked by a final punch 36 and in the process V, they are subjected to deburring, whereby the forging (a'') is produced.
