Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the clogging of a floating type activated sludge air-diffusion apparatus by connecting the bottom end of the moisture blow piping provided with a gate device in the upper part to the bottom end of an air feed pipe connecting to a blower.
CONSTITUTION: In an ordinary aeration state, air is supplied through an air feed pipe 4 from an air-diffuser 2 into the mixed liquid 11 in an aeration tank 1, whereby aeration is accomplished. However, when the operation of the blower 3 is stopped owing to accident such as interruption of service or owing to the need in control and operation, the mixed liquid 11 back flows into the air feed pipe 4 and the device 2 through the device 2. Since the resistance of the device 2 is considerably large as compared to the total of the resistance through a moisture blow piping 5 and an automatic control valve 10 and their head difference H, if the valve 10 is next opened simultaneously with the resuming of the aeration, the liquid 11 entered the inside of the air feed pipe 4 is discharged from the piping 5 by the air sent from the air feed pipe 4. When the air begins to be discharged from the valve 10, the valve 10 is automatically closed.
