Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve initial light flux, performance characteristics, and strength of a bulb by coating the inner surface of a transparent airtight bulb in curved form with a specific amount of aluminium oxide and further coating with a phosphor film containing calcium borate. CONSTITUTION:A transparent airtight bulb in curved form is made from soad lime glass or low lead glass containing 12wt% or less lead oxide each of which has the softening temperature of 640-720 deg.C and the linear thermal expansion coefficient of 92-105X10<-7>cm/cm deg.C. The inner surface of the bulb described above is coated with the oxide of aluminium or magnesium etc. in the rate of 0.6-0.2mg/cm<2> of the inner surface area, and further coated with the phosphor film which contains 0.2-2.0wt% calcium borate per weight of phosphor. Accordingly, the coating strength of the phoshor is increased, and the strength of the airtight bulb can be improved, and further, the initial light flux and performance characteristic can be improved remarkably as a curved fluorescent lamp.
