Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the resistance of a radial type for a truck against the partial frictional consumption and prolong the duration of the tyre by designing the tyre to have a predetermined relationship between the tyre width and the curvature radius of the grounding surface of the tyre and also making a tread grounding part of the tyre of a predetermined rubber composition mainly composed of a styrene- butadiene copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: The radial tyre is designed to satisfy an expression, formula (1) where SW is the radial tyre width, CR is the curvature radius of the grounding surface in the cross section including a tyre rotating shaft, and R is a main crown. At least the grounding surface B of the tread is made of a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a viscosity-average molecular weight of more than 2×105 or a rubber composition composed of 100pts.wt. of blend rubber which include 30 parts of weight of the above-mentioned styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber, 5W60pts.wt. of liquid polymer of styrene-butadiene, polyisoplene and polybutadiene having a viscosity-average molecular weight of 2×103 to 1.5×105, and 40W90pts. wt. of carbon black. By this, the resistance of the radial tyre against the partial frictional consumption can be much improved and the duration of the radial tyre can be much prolonged.
