Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize an A/D converter having high accuracy, by providing a self- correcting means. CONSTITUTION:With an application of the calibration signal to the terminal 5, the reference staircase wave generating circuit 6 starts its operation. At the same time, the digital pattern generating circuit 7 also starts operation, and a digital code is generated for the analog voltage level corresponding to each step. The staircase wave is applied to the A/D converter 9 via the switch 8. The converter 9 performs an A/D conversion for each step and compares the result of conversion with the reference digital quantity sent from the circuit 7 through the subtractor circuit 10 and with every step to obtain the difference that is stored in the memory 11. For actuation of the A/D converter, the switch 8 is switched and an A/D conversion is given to the input analog voltage applied to the terminal 1 through the converter 9. This result of conversion is applied to the memory 11 and then delivered with an addition of the stored degree of compensation.
