Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the latent heat for cooling and condensing an expelled medium, to increase the generated power, and to gasify liquefied natural gas (LNG) efficiently, by using the latent heat of boiling of heated LNG, from which low-boiling components are partly removed, as a working fluid for an expansion machine. CONSTITUTION:Liquid natural gas (LNG) is pressurized and fed to the direct heat exchanger 4 to gasify partly low-boiling components, e.g. methane or N2, which are made to flow into the pipeline 5. The remaining working fluid is pressurized and heated with a working fluid of mixed vapor-liquid phase after the expansion machine 10 in the heat exchanger 8, and then heated with a heat source, e.g. seawater, in the heat exchanger 9. The completely gasified and superheated fluid performs a work in the expansion machine 10 to drive the generator 14. The working fluid discharged to the pipeline 11 is partly cooled by the heat exchanger 8 to become a working fluid of mixed vapor-liquid phase. The remaining fluid is fed to the pipeline 12 and mixed with the gas, e.g. methane or N2, after the direct heat exchanger 4, heatd in the heat exchanger 13 and shipped as natural gas. EFFECT:More simplified operation than the conventional method.
