Abstract

PURPOSE: To highten the stability of arc and prevent the exceesive generation of slag by specifying a component of flux in a compound wire.
CONSTITUTION: In a composition of a compound wire used for EGW, a total amount of nonmetallic materials contained in flux is restricted in a range defined by 0.1W1.15% for a total weight of wire, and sodium fluoride incorporated in flux is ≥27% for a total amount of nonmetallic materials and ≤0.6% for a total weight of wire. By the above-mentioned composition, it can be realized that functions of slag become effective with its total amount controlled, satisfying a workability in welding and soundness of welding joints.
