Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the control of an air to fuel ratio upon starting and warm-up by a method wherein a nozzle is equipped at a venturi section while a solenoid valve is equipped at the intermediate of a communicating path between the nozzle and an auxiliary fuel metering solenoid valve and the air to fuel ratio is controlled by the opening rate of the solenoid valve.
CONSTITUTION: The solenoid valve 48, opening or closing the nozzle 50 opening at the venturi section 14, and the solenoid valve 40, communicating with a pipeline 34 in a float chamber 32, are provided while the solenoid valves 40, 48 are constituted so as to be controlled by a control unit 54. The air to fuel ratio is controlled upon starting and cranking in accordance with the condition of the engine by opening or closing the solenoid valve 40 by the control unit 54 while the supply of mixture to the carburetter is regulated by opening or closing the solenoid valve 48. During warm-up, the opening rate of the solenoid valves 40, 48 and the opening degree of a throttle valve 16 are controlled properly in accordance with the condition of the engine to obtain a proper air to fuel ratio. According to this method, the control and the compensation of the air to fuel ratio may be effected surely upon starting and warm-up while controlability for multiple purposes such as speed reduction, run-on, compensation for altitude and the like may be improved.
