Abstract

PURPOSE: A safe analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent, having little side effects, particularly stomach disorder and comprising a pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine derivative and its salt as active constituents.
CONSTITUTION: An analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent comprising a pyrazolo[1, 5-a]pyridine derivative of the formula (R is electron attractive group, e.g. nitrile or carbamoyl) and its salt as active constituents. The compound of the formula, e.g. 3-cyano-pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine or 3-carbamoyl-pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine, is administered to produce the analgesia or to counteract the inflammation of arthritis or pulpitis or after the operation or injuries in an amount of 0.1W100mg/kg/day, preferably 0.5W40mg/kg/day, preferably per os, or parenterally, preferably per rectum.
