Abstract

PURPOSE: An antiviral agent that is composed of a dead cell mixture of 8 different kinds of specific bacteria.
CONSTITUTION: The antiviral agent contains a dead cell mixture of Pneumococcus, hemolytic Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Neisseria catarrhalis, Gaffkya tetragena, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pneumobacillus and Influenza bacillus as effective components. The dead cell mixture has been known as an antitumor agent or a remedy for bronchial asthma, however, it has been found to be also useful as a remedy for viral diseases. In the preparation of the agent, each bacterium is cultured separately, cell bodies are collected and killed by heating. The dead cells are disinfected with formalin and suspended in a physiological salt solution to prepare the dead cell base solution. The resultant base solutions are mixed to form, e.g., an injection solution, which is used as an antiviral preparation.
