Abstract

PURPOSE: To establish a stable combustion or a decrease of unburnt exhaust substance in an internal combustion engine to which a carburetor with a mechanism for cutting the whole fuel feed at deceleration is equipped, by providing fuel feeding means, for temporarily increasing its quantity, and obtaining an adequate air-fuel ratio when the fuel feed operation is reopened.
CONSTITUTION: A step port 16 is opened through a step air bleed 14, to an intake air passage 8b of a secondary carburetor 1b, while a control circuit 25 is provided in such a way as to control a negative pressure selecting solenoid valve 22 with output signals from an engine revolution speed sensor 23 and throttle fully closing switch 24. When fuel feed operation is reopened, the negative pressure selecting solenoid valve 22 is driven by the control circuit 25 to permit the suction of auxiliary fuel from the slow port 16 to the intake air passage 8b through a diaphragm 19, operating rod 18, lever 17 and throttle valve 9b. In this way, mixture of an adequate ratio can be fed to establish a stable combustion and a decrease of unburnt exhaust substance.
