Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a solid standard test piece with a high accuracy and stable for a long time for analysis of sulfur and chlorine with fluorescent X-ray by solidifying paraffin solid at the normal temperature and the standard substance of sulfur and/or chlorine after mixed and agitated in the liquid state. CONSTITUTION:Paraffin solid at the normal temperature and the standard substance of sulfur and/or chlorine liquid at the normal temperature or fused by heat in the solid state at the normal temperature are mixed together and agitated in the liquid state and the liquid mixture flows into a test piece cell. The cell is immersed in a cool water and solidified by quick coolig to produce a solid standard test piece. This allows even dispersion of the components quickly in the state of particle during their mixing and agitation as they are both in the state of liquid. At the same time, solidification by cooling eliminates the possibility of separation depending on the difference of specific gravity even when the standard test piece of high concentration is prepared. Thus, it is possible to obtain a solid standard test piece for fluorescent X-ray analysis stable for a long time.
