Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably obtain treated water of high purity and greatly reduce the consumption of an ion exchange resin powder for desalting condensate, by passing the condensate through a cation column and then conducting the water through a desalting filter to desalt the water.
CONSTITUTION: After condensate is passed through a highly acid cation exchange resin layer, the water is conducted through a filter layer coated with a mixture which comprises a highly acidic cation exchange resin powder and a highly basic anion exchange resin powder. The water is thus treated. The effect of the treatment can be raised by passing and conducting the water in an ammonia cycle. Just after the water is caused to flow through a cation column, the column is regenerated and is kept in that state. When condenser leakage takes place, the water is conducted again from the cation column to a desalting column.
