Abstract

PURPOSE: To establish the displacement meter of eddy current type excellent less in the effect of temperature, by constituting the detection coil from the metal with higher electric resistance but lower in the temperature coefficient in comparison with copper and silver, such as Manganin.
CONSTITUTION: The eddy current type displacement meter measuring the displacement of vibration for the rotating body such as turbine takes the detection coil as the resonance circuit. The inductance of coil is changed with the distance between the coil and measured metal, causing the impedance of the resonant circuit change. This change is used for the measurement of the distance between the detection coil and the measured object with non-contact method, but this method is subjected to the effect of the temperature of the detection coil. By using the detection coil made of manganin and constantan which have much more specific resistance of the coil material than copper and silver and lower temperature coefficient, excellent eddy current type displacement meter without being effected by temperature can be established.
