Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the life of the liquid crystal display device with simple process by packing a hot-melt adhesive agent in the spacing between a low-melting- point metal pipe and glass substrates at the time of inserting said pipe into a liquid crystal injection port and injecting liquid crystal through this pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A low-melting-point metal pipe 1 is inserted into the injection port of a liquid crystal cell encircled by sealing material 4 in such a manner that its portion protruding to the underside of a ring-form hot melt adhesive agent 2 becomes more than one-third the thickness of a glass substrate 3, after which the adhesive agent 2 is melted and is bonded to the poate 3. Next, liquid crystal 5 is injected through the pipe 1, after which the pipe 1 and adhesive agent 2 are cut off from the plate 3. Thence, the portion of the pipe 1 remained in the hole of the plate 3 is fusion-welded with solder. This ovbiates staining of the liquid crystal 5 by the sealing agent at the injection port. This also reduces the numner of steps of comventional methods such as packing of metal in the injection port and lets the display device of a long liquid cyrstal life to be produced by a simple method.
