Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a black dye compsn. contg. two specified monoazo dyes, the compsn. can dye polyester fibers deep black and affords dyed material having excellent fastness to washing, light and sublimation, the sharpness of fine lines of the dyed material being sharp.
CONSTITUTION: Pref. 10W50% by weight of the dye of formula I, pref. 40W85% of the dye of formula II (wherein X is H or halogen, R1 is H or lower alkoxy, R2 is lower alkyl and R3 is lower alkyl or lower alkoxy) and, if necessary, pref. 0W20% of red dye are blended together. The dye of formula I is obtained by the diazotization of 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline and the coupling of the product with N-β-cyanoethyl-N-β-phenoxyethylaniline. The dye of formula II is obtained by the diazotization of a compound of formula III and the coupling of the product with a compound of formula IV.
