Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize an differential encoder which is suited to any code type the modulator circuit requests by obtaining the output symbols to show the relative and absolute phases through the output terminal of the ROM. CONSTITUTION:ROM4 incorporates address input terminals A0, A1 and A2 plus reading output ends D0, D1 and D2; and the output data given from end DO of ROM4 is delayed by FF6. Here input symbols SSYM0 and SSYM1 are supplied to terminals A1 and A2, and the output data is applied to address input end A0. Thus the output symbols are obtained through output ends D1 and D2 of ROM4; while the signal showing the absolute phase of the output symbol or the absolute phase of the center point of the gathering of plural symbols to which the output symbol belongs is obtained. As a result, a differential encoder can be realized to be suited to any code type the modulator circuit requests.
