Abstract
PURPOSE: An adhesive composition having improved brittleness and adhesiveness, consisting of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or urethan rubber, acrylate and/or methacrylate monomer, an organic peroxide, and its decomposition accelerator.
CONSTITUTION: A) An ethylene-vinyl acetate (containing 50W90 wt.% of vinyl acetate) copolymer or urethane rubber is blended with B) 1W70 wt.%, preferably 5W50 wt.% based on A) of an acrylate and/or methacrylate monomer, C) 0.01W10 wt.%, preferably 0.1W5 wt.%, based on B) of an organic peroxide, and D) 0.1W 30 wt.%, preferably 1W20 wt.% based on C) of a decomposition accelerator, e.g., tertiary amines or polyamines to give the desired composition. The composition is bonded to any materials easily without heat or pressure and has improved brittleness, weather resistance, and durability.
