Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the nobel method of copying electrophotographs of two colors by providing a charge generating layer which has photo sensitivity to A-color light and B-color light and a photoconductive layer of hole migration type having photo sensitivity to the B-color light alone on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor 1 is of the 3-layer constitution having a charge- generating layer 12 and a photoconductive layer 13 on a conductive substrate 11. The charge-generating layer is a thin layer of photoconductive material, and when light is radiated thereto, migratory charges generate in the layer and this layer has photo sensitivity to the light of A color and B color constituting the images on the original. The photoconductive layer 13 has no photo sensitivity to A color light and has photo sensitivity to B-color light, allowing the A-color light to transmit therethrough. The surface of the photoreceptor 1 is chargeable to positive and negative polarities. To perform two-color copying with the A color and B color, two-color light is used for the images and the images are copied through two rotation of the photoreceptor by using the toners of A color and B color. It is also possible to obtain the copy of one color from the two-color original in a similar manner.
