PURPOSE:To obtain high ignition voltage for reducing the energy loss and electric wave noise due to the mechanical distribution of high voltage by intermittently controlling one by one the ignition coils provided in cylinders. CONSTITUTION:The same quantity of projecting electrodes 12a-12d as cylinders and a projecting electrode 12e having angular interval theta with the electrode 12a are provided on the outer-circumferential face of the rotor 12 of a signal generator 1. When the electrodes 12a-12e face one by one with a pickup electrode 11a in synchronization with the rotation of an engine, the signal voltages Vs corresponding thereto are generated by a signal generator 1 and fed to a monostale circuit 2 and an AND circuit 3. A counter 4 operates in accordance with the clock inout due to the output voltages corresponding to the electrodes 12a-12d and the reset input due to the output voltage corresponding to the electrode 12e to generate output voltages V1-V4 by terminals Q1-Q4. The ignition coils 61-64 provided in cylinders are operated at the places corresponding to the voltages V1-V4.
