Abstract

PURPOSE:To get a carrier which can automatically carry and reverse a work required for a machine tool, especially turning tool. CONSTITUTION:A reciprocating self-propelled carrier 15 is fitted in parallel to the axis of a chuck 1 of head stock 3. A housing 20, borne indexable to an end of a swivel arm 19 of carrier 15, has holding pawls 21A, 21B for carrying a work after the michining is complete and another housing 22 borne to the other end of the arm has pawls 23A, 23B for carrying a work before machining. When a work is carried by the pawls 23A, 23B to the chuck 1 and the machining is complete, the pawls of the housing 20 reverse the work for another series of machining and carry out the work. These operations are automatically controlled by the MID system.
