Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the recording and reproduction of audio signal in excellent manner, by supplying two different signals to a pair of rotary heads respectively. CONSTITUTION:The heads A,B,C,D are provided in the housing H with a phase difference of 90 deg. each other. When the field signal in continuous with the video signal to the heads A and B is alternately supplied to the heads A and B and audio signal is fed to the heads C and D, video signal is recorded on the tracks A and B and audio signal is recorded on the tracks C and D. Further, at reproduction, the video signal reproducing and processing circuit is connected to the heads A and B, and the heads C and D are connected to the audio reproduction and processing circuit, and relative movement is made for the video tape T and the rotary head the same as the case with recording. As a result, the recording and reproduction of audio signal sufficiently excellent can be made.
