Abstract
PURPOSE: To minimize labor burden to the ship's operators as well as to improve ship's maneuverability by rigging bow thruster and stern thruster besides main propeller and rudder.
CONSTITUTION: Equipment covers a velocity setter 300 for setting ship's velocity u, a velocity detector 302 for detecting ship's velocity u, v, a route setter 301 for setting the route bearing θ2 and route point of tangency coordinates, a ship's position detector 304 for detecting ship's positions X, Y, a gyrocompass 303 for detecting bow bearing θ, etc. Additional equipment covers a rudder angle servo device for controlling the rudder by taking outputs from PI controller 309 and PD controller 314 as inputs, a bow thruster thrust regulating servo device for controlling bow thruster by taking outputs from controllers 311, 314, a stern thruster thrust regulating servo device for controlling stern thruster by taking outputs from controllers 312, 315 as inputs.
