Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove strain efficiently without damaging surfaces with heating flames by using an arc heat source by opposite polarity current or AC current having cleaning action for the heating surce and heating and cooling the strain portions of outside plates at the time of removing the strain of the outside plates such as of Al alloy or other having oxide films.
CONSTITUTION: Opposite polarity current or AC current is flowed to the electrode 3 in the nozzle 4 of a heating torch body 2 from a power source 7, whereby a heating arc flame 6 is produced under the flow of shielding gas 5. A vehicle outside plate 1 made of Al alloy having oxide films is heated by this arc flame 6, then electrons are produced from the oxide film portions and break down the oxide films, thereby creating cleaning action to provide a silver white color. The cleaning area 11 is evenly heated by the heating arc flame 6 owing to this action and melts down in the heating area 12 of the outside plate 1, thus production of any pockmarks and the like is obviated. This heating causes the outside plate 1 to be shrank and be given tension, thus accomplishing strain removing of the outside plate 1.
