Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the coating of water-resistant, colorful patterns by the procedure in which differently colored paints containing colloidal silica as a binder and a water-soluble water repellet agent are coated on the surface of a base in an uneven state, and then an organic finish clear paint containing a hydrophobic water repellent agent is further coated on the unevenly coated film.
CONSTITUTION: The inorganic colored paint 2 containing colloidal silica as a binder and a water-soluble water repellent agent, e.g., sodium methylsiliconate, etc., in a proportion of 0.1W5wt% is coated unevenly on the surface of the base 1 of building, etc., and then the differently colored second inorganic paint 3 and the third inorganic paint, each having the same composition but different tints, are, respectively, coated on the first inorgainc paint 2 unevenly. Then, after drying these paint coats, the organic transparent finish paint 5 of acrylic resin, urethane resin, etc., containing 0.05W10wt% a hydrophobic water repellent agent, e.g., powdered silica, etc., having trimethylsiloxy groups, is coated on these paint coats. Thus, a highly water-resistant and beautifully colorful paint film can be formed.
