Abstract
PURPOSE: To conduct continuously adsorption and desorption by circulating activated carbon adsorbent through adsorption zone and desorption zone, carrying out adsorption and desorption in each zone and separating the desorbed component to recover when adsorption and desorption of components such as solvents present in gas are carried out with activated carbon in a block system.
CONSTITUTION: Gas to be treated from generated source is supplied to an adsorption zone 2 in a chamber 1 and passed through an endless belt 6 to which cartridge containing activated carbon adsorbent is connected, whereby solvent in gas is adsorbed to remove. The purified gas B is discharged into the atmosphere. The belt 6 is driven by gears 7, 7' and moved through a gas seal zone 3 to a desorption zone 4. In the seal zone 3 N2 is circulated by a blower and a gas curtain is formed thereby right and left zones are isolated. In the desorption zone 4 activated carbon is contacted with gas for desorption in high-temperature parts 4B, 4B' and in low- temperature parts 4A, 4A'. Gas from which component is desorbed is introduced through a heat exchanger 10 into a cooler 11 where component such as solvent is condensed. The condensed component is recovered in a separator 12.
