Abstract

PURPOSE: To dispense with keeping the ambient temperature around a photoelectric multiplier constant and facilitate hanling, by providing a thermosensitive resistor or capacitor in a voltage bias circuit, detecting the ambient temperature and compensating an output as to the tmeperature.
CONSTITUTION: A thermosensitve resistor RT1 having a negative temperture coefficient is coupled in parallel with a voltage resistor R in a bias circuit 2 for a photoelectric multiplier 1. The ambient temperature around a scintillator and the photoelectric multiplier is detected by the thermosensitive resistor RT1. When the ambient temperature rises, the output of the multiplier 1 is going to fall in a temperature range above about 5°C. However, the output of the multiplier does not actually fall but is constant because the resistance of the resistor RT1 decreases and the bias voltage of the multiplier 1 rinses. Therefore, the tmeperature does not need to be kept constant and the handling is greatly facilitated.
