PURPOSE: A growth regulator for basidio mycetes capable of promoting their well- balanced growth, including differentiation and organization, and giving mycelia of good quality, comprising a specific straight chain saturated aliphatic alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: A culture system of basidiomycetes is incorporated with 0.01W 10ppm, preferably 0.05W5ppm, of one or two or more types of straight chain saturated aliphatic alcohols of the formula CnH2n+1OH(n is 26W36).
