Abstract
PURPOSE:To integrate three machines to one unit and reduce the size of the machine by using the photosensitive drum common to the copying machine, laser printer and image reader through laser beam scanning and providing respective optical systems and photo detecting means which may be disposed if necessary. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a copying machine, the original images of the original on an original platen 1 are formed on a photosensitive drum 8 by way of a lighting lmap 2, scanning mirrors 3, 4, lens 5, mirror 6 and stationary mirror 7. In the case of a laser printer, the mirror 6 and space modulating element 13 are removed. The laser beam from a laser oscillator 17 is imaged of the condensing point on the drum 8 by means of a light modulator 16, light deflector 15, condensing lens 14, lenses 12, 5 and stationary mirror 7. In the case of an image reader through laser beam scanning, the mirror 6 is removed and the original images on the original platen 1 are formed on the space modulating element 13 in the B position by the lighting lamp 2, scanning mirrors 3, 4, lenses 5, 12. Next, the element 13 is placed in the A position and is scanned by the laser beam. The image read signals are fetched out by a photo detector 18 or projected to the drum 8.
