Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the antireflecting glass body which may be used for the cathode ray tubes of television receivers and is easy to be volume-produced by coating at least one or more layers of metal fluorides and metal oxides films on the smoke glass surface mixed with coloring materials.
CONSTITUTION: Glass is smoked to make use of absorbing phenomenon of light. Further a single layer of metal fluorides or three layers of metal fluorides/metal oxides/metal fluorides are coated on one or both surfaces of this smoked glass. Zirconium oxide, silicon oxide, cerium oxide, etc. are used as metal oxides for making use of the interference phenomenon of light and magnesium fluoride, cryolite, etc. are used as metal fluorides.
