Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a track from shifting in position by increasing the height-directional displacement of a rotating magnetic head by elongating the length from the fixed part of a piezoelectric element as much as possible. CONSTITUTION:Piezoelectric element 52 stuck in a ring shape is fixed to rotating disc 28 at a position forming an angle of approximate 90 deg. with two magnetic heads 38 and 40 bonded at an angle of 180 deg.. Therefore, the effective length of piezoelectric element 52 is nearly a half as long as the outer diameter of a rotating magnetic head unit and a maximum size which can be obtained in the structure where two magnetic heads 38 and 40 are bonded to piezoelectric element 52 stuck in the ring shape. The height-directional displacement of rotating magnetic heads 38 and 40 is in proportion to the square of the length from the fixed part of piezoelectric element 52 and, therefore, the height-directional displacement of heads 38 and 40 can be increased, thereby preventing a track from shifting in position.
