Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a W/O cream having high water content and excellent moisture retainability, feeling to the skin, and storage stability, by compounding a polyoxyalkylene alkanolamide as an emulsifier and a specific nonionic surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:A W/O cream containing 55-90wt% of water, 6-40wt% of an oil, 0.2-3wt% of a polyoxyalkylene alkanolamide of formula I, II, etc. (R is 6-22C alkyl or alkenyl; m, n are 2-10), and 1-7wt% of a polyol fatty acid ester-type nonionic surface active agent such as monooleic acid sorbitol ester. In spite of the high water content, the cream can be stored for a long time without phase inversion or separation of water.
