Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a blue luminescent composition of improved luminance brightness under ≤100V low speed electron beam excitation, useful for blue luminescent fluorescent display tubes, etc., comprising a mixture of a conductive metal oxide (or sulfide) having a specific size distribution and a specific blue luminescent fluophor.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising a mixture of (a) one or more sorts of conductive materials selected from conductive metal oxides and conductive metal sulfides, with a size distribution represented by a median and standard deviation being 2.5W14μ and ≤0.7, respectively, and (b) one or more sorts of blue luminescent fluophor selected from silver-activated zinc sulfide fluophor, silver and aluminum-activated zinc sulfide fluophor, silver-activated zinc thioselenide fluophor, silver and aluminum-activated zinc thioselenide fluophor, europium- activated barium-magnesium aluminate fluophor, europium-activated strontium- barium phosphate fluophor, etc. The weight ratio (a):(b) are 1:99W1:4.
