Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable stable and correct arc length control to be performed by feeding the detection value of an electrode end position detector back to the output signal of a voltage comparing arithmetic circuit part and operating and amplifying the deviation thereof thereby running an arc length control motor.
CONSTITUTION: The slider interlocked to a non-consumable electrode 3 is moved in the groove depth direction and the output of a position dtector 10 which detects the end position of the electrode 3 is fed back to the output of a comparing arithmetic circuit part 21 which proportionally integrates the deviation of the arc voltage and the voltage of a reference voltage setter 13. For this purpose, a manual position setter 15 for setting the lectorode end in arbitrary positions is provided. The output thereof is always coinncident with the output of the detector 10 and therefore even if switches 16, 16' are turned ON, stable arc length control may be accomplished. In this way, the output of the detector 10 and the output of the circuit 21 are butted at the point b and this is operated and amplified in the amplifier 28 of a position control circuit part 22. This is inputted to a motor drive circuit part 23, by which brake is applied to an arc length control motor 8 so as not to overrun near the correct point.
