Abstract

PURPOSE: Fine powder discharge is reduced by forming fluidized bed layer inside the cylinder specifically provided.
CONSTITUTION: The powder feeder bath 1 is provided with the partition cylinder 2 with openings at both ends so that the bottom end 3 is slightly spaced from the bottom 4 of the feeder bath. The fluidized bed 5 is formed on the section just below the partition cylinder 2 on the feeder bath bottom 4. The inlet 6 and room 7 for air is provided beneath the bottom of the fluidized bed 5. Powder is fed outside the cylinder 2 and compressed air is fed through the air inlet 6. This causes the powder to flow into the inside the cylinder 2 through the gas X below the lower edge 3 of the partition cylinder and forms fluidized layer (a). The fluidized layer (a) varies with the size of the gap X, the powder pressure of the fixed layer B, and compressed air pressure. But, the layer (a) is caused to maintain its height because powder is fed through the gap X due to the fixed layer B pressure and the density difference between the both side layers when the layer (a) is consumed. Thus, only the minimum quantity of powder is used, resulting in reduced quantity of discharged powder.
