Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a creamy drug for external use, having pleasant feeling to the skin and high absorbability, by dissolving a fungicide "clotrimazole" in "crotamiton," and adding an oily substance, a nonionic surface active agent, and a polymer to the solution.
CONSTITUTION: Clotrimazole which is a fungicide effective to trichophytia pompholyciformus, tinea trichophytia, trichophytia maculovesiculosa, etc., is dissolved in crotamiton. The solution is added with an oily substance (e.g. isopropyl myristate), a nonionic surface active agent (e.g. polyoxyethylene sorbitan monolaurate) and an aqueous solution of a carboxyvinyl polymer.The solution thus obtained is neutralized with an aqueous solution of a basic substance while stirring, to obtain a creamy preparation having a pH of 4-10 and a viscosity of 10,000-100,000 cps.
