Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the assured information of the defective position based on the defective detection position information which is recorded on the recording material in the rewinding process, by recording previously the defective position on the recording material in the winding process.
CONSTITUTION: Running web 1 is taken up to take-up roll 8 via guide rolls 2W7. In case some defect exists on web 1, the defect is detected by defect detectors 13 and 14 during the feed stretch between rolls 2 and 3. The defect detection position detected bt detectors 13 and 14 is recorded on different recording material 19 in the form of the winding diameter value of roll 8 for the web. The defect record signal of material 19 is read out in the rewinding process, and then receives the collation/comparison with the winding diameter value of the winding roll. Then the lead-out period is informed for the area where the defect exists on the web.
