Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent shortage of a lead storage battery due to the decrease in electrolytic concentration at excessive power dissipation of the battery by adding sulfate dissolved in dilute sulfuric acid without harm to the electrolyte in the battery limiting the electrolyte amount.
CONSTITUTION: To the electrolyte limited to less than 1.2ml per 1g of anode active substance in a lead storage battery is added sulfate such as, for example, soda sulfate, potassium sulfate or the like dissolved in dilute sulfuric acid without harm for the battery. Since sulfuric ion is retained in the electrolyte even after the electrolyte concentration is lowered at the end of power dissipation of the battery, the lead sulfate is not dissolved in the electrolyte to thereby prevent shortage of the battery.
