Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to set the open degree of a throttle valve in starting am engine to a proper one which meets an atmospheric temperature by a method wherein a cam portion corresponding to an opening and closing of a choke valve of a first idle cam is made to have multiple stages and the cam portion is used selectively in accordance with an atmospheric temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The first idle cam 8 has a staged cam portion 8aW8d to keep a specified open degree of a throttle valve 10 by having the top of a throttle valve lever 11 contact the cam portion 8aW8d. Then the cam 8 is set so that the cam portion 8a at the top position can be the one for low temperature corresponding to a complete closing of a choke valve 2 at an ordinary low temperature. And, one end of a bimetal 12 being swithed at an extremely low temperature is fixed with an pin 13 near a shaft 5 of the cam 8 and on the other is a cam portion 14 for extremely low temperature installed so as to enable to slide on the cam 8a for low temperature. This methanism can set the open degree of the throttle valve 10 at the engine start properly in accordance with an atmospheric temperature.
