Abstract

PURPOSE: To quantize lens information with a simple construction by attaching code patterns which are optically identifiable to a moving member such as aperture ring, distance ring, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Code patterns 4 for the purpose of quantizing aperture value information are formed by the fringes which are binary-coded to bright and dark in parallel with an aperture scale 3 on the outside surface of an aperture ring. In the configuration of the fringes, one set of friges corresponds to one aperture set value. Light from the patterns 4 is imaged and projected to the photo detectors 5 which are fixed on the camera side, by way of a reflecting mirror 6 and an imaging lens 7. The photoelectric outputs 100a thru 100e of the elements 5 are compared with the reference voltage 102a of a reference voltage generating circuit 102 in a comparator 101 and become digital signals 103a thru 103e. These signals are decoded by a decoder 104 and the decoded signals input to an arithmetic unit 105, where they are processed with other inputs and are then outputted to an exposure control unit 106 and display unit 107, whereby the control and display of shutter speeds are accomplished. Thereby, the quantization of lens information may be accomplished by the simple construction.
