Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a simple structure and a long life to a photo switch by placing a magnetized elastic light-screening member in the gap between a pair of opposite optical transmission paths and bringing other magnetic material close to the optical circuit to break or close the circuit. CONSTITUTION:Ends 11, 21 of first and second optical fibers 1, 2 are set opposite to each other on the same axial line at appropriate interval A. Body 31 of light screening member 3 made of elastic magnetic sheet is placed in almost parallel with fiber 2. The tip of member 3 is L-shaped member 32. By lowering magnetic body 6 to chain line position 6' member 3 is pulled up by magnetic force to close interval A between fibers 1, 2, whereby the optical circuit of fibers 1, 2 is broken. When body 6 is raised, member 3 falls owing to spring force of its own, and the optical circuit is formed.
