Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the voltage rise of a thyristor motor when a load is abruptly altered by applying a current component having a leading phase of 90° in phase difference with respect to the nominal induced electromotive force at the current of the armature of the motor when the terminal voltage of a synchronous motor exceeds predetermined value.
CONSTITUTION: The terminal voltage of a thyristor motor for controlling variably the speed of a synchronous motor 2 by a cyclo converter is detected by a detector 19. When the terminal voltage is raised higher than the value corresponding to the instruction signal from an instructing circuit 20, a signal responsive to the deviation is produced from an amplifier 21. Thus, a sine wave signal having a phase difference of 90° with respect to the nominal induced electromotive force is produced from a multiplier 22, and added to a signal from a current instructing circuit 7 by an adder 8 to control the armature current. Accordingly, it can simply prevent the terminal voltage rise of the motor due to control delay of the field control circuit and further reduce the capacity of a converter 1.
