Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit iron plates stacked and held at a predetermined height to be separated at a high speed and reliably by permitting iron plates raised by an attracting means to magnetically repel one another and be laterally forced out by a separating pawl and a separating piece.
CONSTITUTION: An attracting unit 10 is lowered and urged against the top of an iron plate stack 5. The attracted iron plates are raised until the uppermost ion plate 51 strikes a positioning plate 11. The uppermost iron plate 51 and following iron plates 52 and 53 which are also raised in a state attracted by the uppermost one, are magnetically separated from one another by a magnet 12. In this way, only the uppermost iron plate 51 separated from the other iron plates 52 and 53 is pushed out through the space between the positioning plate 11 and a separating piece 14 by a separating pawl 13 driven by a cylinder 18.
