Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the degree of thermoshrinking and continuous productivity by carrying out the forming with a mixture of polyester copolymer of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and ethylene glycol, and polyethylene terephthalate. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 10-80wt% of polyester copolymer resin composed of 95-65wt% of terephthalic acid and 5-35wt% of isophthalic acid as acidic components and ethylene glycol as alcoholic component, and 90-20wt% of polyethylene terephthalate, is dired and then extruded by extrusion machine at 270- 290 deg.C. After this process, it is quenched into crude tube and this tube is preheated in the preheating zone at 70-80 deg.C. Next, it is preheated in the elongation zone at the secondary transition temperature of Tg and then at Tg+40 deg.C. After this process, it is elongated 3.0-4.0 fold longitudinally and approximately 2.5-4.0 fold in a tube circumferential direction and is thermally treated at 78-87 deg.C after quenching with its external diameter restrained. In this way, tube having 40-65% of thermal shrinkage rate at 100 deg.C is obtained.
