Abstract
PURPOSE: A new species of fungus belonging to Agaricaceae is cultured to produce said proteopolysaccharide with antitumorigenic activity.
CONSTITUTION: A new species of fungus belonging to Agaricaceae, that is, Agaricus heterosistes Heinem. et Gooss, (FERM-4731), is inoculated in an enriched medium and cultured preferably by the solid culture method under aerobic conditions. The culture mixture is subjected to centrifugation or filtration to give the filtrate, from which said proteopolysaccharide is separated.
