Abstract

PURPOSE: To filter continuously waste water containing tar, etc., without casuing the great lowering of the filterabiity of filter membrance by irradiating a supersonic wave to filter membrance shen liquor is passed through the filter membrance and the filter membrance is reversely washed.
CONSTITUTION: The membrance 2 is provided so as to divide the space within the casing 1 of filter device into two spaces, and one compartment A is provided with the intake port 1a for waste water to be treated and also the other compartment B is provided with the effluent port 1b for water. And, the side wall of the casing 1 on the compartment A side is equipped with the supersonic wave generator 3 for irradiating supersonic wave against the filter membrane 2. The generator 3 is worked when waste water to be treated pressurized into the compartment A is passed through the membrance 2 to cause a high frequency vibration in the filtr membrane 2, whereby very thin spaces are formed in a wave state on the surface of the filter membrance 2. Thus, the membrane becomes inpervious to sticky particles, e.g., tar, etc., or fine rigid particles present in waste water, and also even if the particles penetrate the membrane, they are easily removed by an operation like reverse washing.
