Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a high molecular weight organosilicone polymer in a short time and in high yield, by the heat polymerization of an oligomer obtained by heating an organosilicon compound under specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: An organosilicon polymer containing Si-C bonds as main skeleton components, is prepared by (1) reacting an organosilicon compound at 300W500°C while keeping the reaction pressure between 1.5 and 50 kg/cm2 by extracting a part of the produced gas during the reactin, and (2) reacting the product of (1) at 100W550°C while keeping the reaction between 0.8W30 kg/cm2. The weight average molecular weight of the product of the process (1) is pref. 400W980, and that of the process (2) is pref. 1,000W200,000.
