Abstract
PURPOSE: NaOH absorbing-solution containing absorbed SOx from exhaust gas is sprayed into a stabilizer and reacted with exhaust gas component to produce solid Glauber's salt, which is then collected by an electric dust collector. The process provides an economical and simple means to treat recovered SOx.
CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas from a glass melting furnace or the like 1 is conducted into a stabilizer 2, and contacted with sprayed alkaline absorbing-solution 3 carried from a gas-liquid contact desulfurizer 6. Reaction between sprayed solution and SOx and 02 in exhaust gas occurs together with water evaporation to produce solid Glauber's salt. The Glauber's salt is collected by an electrid dust collector 4 and discharged from the outlet 7. The exhaust gas further proceeds through a fan 5 to an apparatus 6 where NaOH absorbing-solution traps substantially all of SOx, then white fume is burnt at 8 and the cleaned exhaust gas is discharged 9.
