Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a multiple reflecting level considerably (about 10dB) by forming the auxiliary electrode for phase speed correction unequally against the main electrode. CONSTITUTION:Main electrode b has the same constitution with usual split electrode and auxiliary electrode C is formed with an angle 90 deg.+ or -theta against coupling elements a1 and a2 and with an angle theta against main electrode b. It is allowed that theta takes either such an angle as 0 deg.-theta against the incident wave (case (a) ) or such one as 90 deg.+theta against the incident one (case (b) ). In other words, the reflection of the wave upon electrode C is divided into either in the inner direction or in the outer direction. And reflected wave D', which will be reflected by incident wave D1 to main electrode b becomes to be parallel to incident wave D1, while reflected wave D2' which will be reflected by incident wave D2 to electrode c takes an angle theta against incident wave D2 and, as the result, reflected wave D2' does not pass the same path as reflected wave D2 does, resulting in no parpendicular incidence to the mutually faced sending electrodes or received electrodes.
